The service at JL Motors is very friendly, professional and very reasonable in price. James finally managed to correct many of the errors that other mechanics and garages had made on my car, this I am greatly appreciative off. Being a female I do not know what goes wrong with my car and have had to trust mechanics when they say things are fixed and at a huge cost to my pocket usually, however, the problems seem to remain. Finally I have found a mechanic who ACTUALLY FIXES what is wrong with the car and charges a reasonable price.
So many thanks for fitting my car in quickly on several occasions and fixing it properly for me and especially for not 'ripping me off' as I am a not a intellect in car mechanics

Jaguar XJ8 10rs 104,000 miles

"The 3.2L engine on my car was due new timing chains and tensioner, plugs, 12 No. , and retiming the 4 cams. The engine head was stripped and rebuilt. It started first time.
The new engine parts ( timing chains etc ) were obtained by at a good price by mail order, and following furher research by Mr Lundy, likely problems percular to that model were watched for.
What would of been a prohibiteley expensive repair on a £3000 car became economicaly possible and will allow me another 50,0000 miles on this beautiful old'ish car. It has proved a relaible family car since.
Mr Lundy takes time to explain what he has found, and has not found, and what needs to be done. I have had occasion to watch him work and noted the care taken with the engine rebuild. I have confidence that a proper job has been done on the engine and a honest price charged. He does, it seams, enjoy the challenge of working on big engines of the older cars".

Porsche Carrera 4

I am the lucky individual who left at JL Motor Engineering what I believed was a Porsche 911 totally beyond repair. Thoughts of an ebay listing for a car without an engine was crossing my mind until I delivered my car to James. It became obvious that his knowledge was second to none and that the situation could be recovered. I was absolutely delighted when I got the car back that not only was it running but that it had never gone better. I will only ever take my car to James in the future for any servicing or repair works.

Mr D G Nicholson

Volvo 960 14yrs 108,000 miles

"Engine top was stripped and completely rebuilt, and the 24 valves ground. Now running far smoother with the old power back, and fuel consumption down to what it should be. Rebuild was done with care and precission. Time was taken to explain the new faults as they were discovered and the remedies required. It was noted that care was taken in searching and obtaining good parts at an economic price.
In the end a major job was tackled that saved an old but a good car from the scrap heap for another 40,000 miles, and done at a economic price. The invoice was clear as to the work done, parts supplied and labour costs recorded".

He works carefully and thoroughly, sourcing quality parts. The level of communication provided during the process meant that I was fully aware of every detail of the work being carried out. Mercedes 280SE Coupe

I bought a Mercedes 280SE Coupe from Silverstone. After it arrived in Glasgow... Problems... Problems with the car. To save time I contacted Mercedes Benz Glasgow, after two days they were confused as to how to engineer the problems. Finally as a last resort I went to the internet and found JL Classic Care Ltd, visited them and informed them about some of the issues I had with the 280SE. I was surprised with the detailed knowledge that James Lundy possessed, he informed me how the problems could be resolved, that was without even looking at the 280SE. I gave the go ahead to have the 280SE uplifted and brought to his workshop. After some time the 280SE was on the road again, I really enjoyed driving it trouble free. A 1969 LHD all the way from California was on the road of Glasgow with me behind the ivory steering wheel...I was king of the road! If  it's a classic car you have no option but to take it to James Lundy who operates with a passion with his team. It did not cost a lot and has put a smile on my face and others who have seen the car. Again, thank you for the flashes of brilliance and attention to detail in your work.
